this is a place for me to commune and share a small part of my thought life with my friends and explore what God has and is doing in my life (and just be random too)

it's a new season?

hi...this is my small beginning at writing and maintaining my own blog after years of ruminantion and procrastination.

The title of the blog is taken from an unreleased John Mayer (who I think is a lyrical genius, almost touching bob dylan, blake and t.s. eliot) track called "lifelines" and here are the full lyrics:

"you saw me sleeping on the couch tonight,
i know it serves you right
makes you luckier than i
all the colors in the room have changed
compared to yesterday
but brother I've discovered you

we're pushing on
we're passing through
and it wont be long
till I walk with you
tonight I'm down
I'm inside out
staring at the pictures in the album you forgot about

and isn't it a shame
times have changed
but isn't it strange
lifelines stay the same, the same

round and round
I can't believe my heart has waited this long
all along, we've been children in a cold world
where wonder was lost, every day
and if love was a compass
oh, I've lost my way"

So I really am lost - I think that this is the starting point...this blog is not eternal, just some computer script and thoughts on a screen. But I hope that my life starts to grow from this point. I'm glad I'm not starting from scratch even though re-birth can feel like it. I hope this is a new season.

So I'll end this now with another quote, from my favourite book: The Bible

John 3

You Must Be Born Again
1Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. 2This man came to Jesus[a] by night and said to him, "Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him." 3Jesus answered him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again[b] he cannot see the kingdom of God." 4Nicodemus said to him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?" 5Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.[c] 7Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.' 8The wind[d] blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit."
